The Warship in 7¼" gauge. Built for main line duties, this 2hp loco features drive to all axles, digital control and choice of sound systems. This loco is a serious passenger hauler and is ideal for club duties and larger garden railways.

Information

The Warship class were based on the German V200 class using Maybach MD650 engines. 71 examples were built for the Western region. The Phoenix Warship follows the original very closely, based on drawings taken from preserved locos, 600 hours were devoted to making the body-shell master. The addition of an etched nickel detailing kit makes this a Warship an owner can be proud of.

However, looks alone aren’t enough, this loco is built to haul passengers. Underneath the superb body-shell is a laser cut and welded steel chassis in black powder coat finish. Substantial bogies with 6mm steel frames. A 1hp 24v motor mounted in each bogie with chain drive to all axles. Additional steel detailing parts on each bogie and bolt together construction makes the drive train on the Warship functional, practical and desirable!

Power and looks are important, so is reliability and controllability, We have added state-of-the-art digital control with a 130 amp capacity, features such as on board diagnostics, freewheel and half speed switching and automatic charging sensors. This controller is a well proven unit, made in England and sold world wide Phoenix are designated official original equipment suppliers we have worked with the manufacturers to tailor a programme to suit locomotive running and to get the most from the machine and provide the best control for the driver.

The Warship makes a great package. Customers are telling us they are hauling trains with 24 or more passengers. The Warship is supplied as a 2hp kit as standard and will take approx 80hours to complete. The Chassis comes powder coated and with all electrics and electronics installed. The bogies are built with motors and drive train installed, just add the detailing parts. The body-shell is in grey gel coat and will take up most of the build time to finish. An etched nickel detailing kit with windscreen and side window frames make finishing a straightforward modelling exercise.
