The Hesketh
The Hesketh. A narrow gauge loco in 7¼” gauge. All steel construction makes this powerful loco as rugged as it looks. A great passenger hauler equally at home at the club track or your own garden railway. £1895 complete and ready to run.
Information
The Hesketh Locomotive is based on the Hibberd Planet Locomotive built for Liverpool Corporation Water Works. Ownership passed to Liverpool Museum and the loco was put on permanent loan to The West Lancashire Light Railway at Hesketh Bank.
Hibberd Locomotives were not built for their looks, they were built to work and to work hard.
The Hesketh is named after the area the prototype loco operates in and gives a link to its origins. We planned the loco as a basic workhorse. We wanted to capture the look and feel of a Narrow Gauge Loco which will be equally at home on the Garden Railway or performing passenger hauling duties at the club track.
