This is the classic loco from Germany. The V200 is probably the most comprehensive 5” gauge battery/electric loco kit on the market today. With over 1000 components and detailing parts in brass, polyurethane and etched nickel. This brings 5" gauge locos to a new level. Interior detailing for both cabs and the engine room, coupled with a sophisticated digital control system, make this loco one you will enjoy building and running.

Traction

  • Battery/Electric - 24volts DC with four 150 watt 24V motors (batteries are not supplied with a kit)

Control

  • 130 amp digital controller with TruCharge battery condition indicator and on board diagnostics.
  • Hand held control unit connected to loco by single cable. Can be used right or left handed. The unit has dead-mans speed handle, direction and two tone horn controls plus secondary battery condition indicator.
  • PCB relay board with power outlets for two tone horns and extra output for customer defined accessory. Additional onboard switches allow electronic speed restriction (half of full speed) and free-wheel facility.

Mechanical

  • Welded 3mm steel chassis has integral battery tray and is powder coated in black. Bogies 3mm laser cut steel with integral suspension. CNC axles and wheels. Bogie detailing is cast aluminium beam with lost wax cast brass and etched nickel detailing parts. Bogies are supplied built, tested and wired with initial protective back paint.

Body

  • Body is a one piece composite (GRP) moulding

Detailing

  • 8 sq feet of etched nickel detailing featuring grilles, steps, plate-work, chequer plate, switches, switch plates, fan covers, vents, windscreen frames, side window frames, grille frames, brake detailing, Deutches Bundesbahn lettering for loco sides and many more detailing features.
  • Internal detailing in polyurethane and GRP. Also features 2 bulkheads, 2 driving desks, drivers seats, second man seats, fire extinguishers (6), engine room detailing, with engine blocks, cylinder head covers, and radiators. Water piping and electrical cupboard, even the screen de-misters are included in the kit.

Safety

  • On board thermal overload protection. Intelligent sensing of battery over or under charge. TruCharge indication of motor faults and motor wiring faults. Reverse polarity protection. Low profile gold plated battery connectors.
  • 60 amp main circuit breaker. Auxiliary fuses for handset and horns.
  • Sprung power/throttle lever.
  • Loco will stop if handset is disconnected. Loco will stop if handset lead is severed. Loco will not proceed if it detects a fault and indicates the fault via the TruCharge indicator. Fault can be rectified and system reset. Controller will recheck system and operate normally when fault is cleared.

  • Chassis assembled, welded and black powder coated. Wiring loom assembled and fitted with 130 amp Digital motor speed controller, horns, fuses and battery connections fitted.
  • One piece GRP body shell with additional GRP mouldings for front valances and internal engine room detailing.
  • Polyurethane mouldings for engine detailing, grilles, vents etc.
  • 8.2 sq feet of chemically milled (photo etched nickel detailing parts.
  • Acrylic window material
  • Lost wax brass detailing parts for driving desk, fire extinguishers, external s and internal features.
  • Remote hand controller with sprung power lever and switches for direction and horns and associated leads.
  • Bogies assembled and wired.
  • Bogie detailing parts, cast side beams and brake detailing
  • Comprehensive illustrated build manual.
  • Manual is available in English or German and in Large print version on request.
  • All fasteners

Approximately 80 hour’s assembly for loco (excluding painting).
